Inversion Art believes great artists should be set free to pursue their greatest work.

Founder and Co-Director Joey Flores with artist Maria Gaspar.

Inversion Art’s studio management service is intended to provide artists with comprehensive support that minimizes the time they spend on operations, maximizes their efficiency and effectiveness, and gives them peace of mind that qualified professionals are keeping their studio on track.

  • Who coordinates shipping and logistics with galleries, brand collaborators, museums, or other partners?

  • Who develops strategies for new projects and opportunities?

  • Who coordinates production?

  • Who maintains your archive, inventory, and keeps promotional materials up to date?

  • Who manages sales and partnership communications?

  • Who negotiates on your behalf?

If the answer is, “I do”  -  don’t you think your time would be better spent making art?

Inversion Art’s comprehensive studio management service minimizes your time spent on operations, maximizes time to make art, and ensures that experienced professionals are keeping the studio on track.

A New Model for Artist’s Unique Needs

Studio managers can be costly when you can’t afford it, and they can leave when you need them most.

At Inversion Art we work on a 15% revenue-sharing basis. We only get paid when you do, so you can count on our support even through periods of income volatility.

A Dedicated Artist Liaison

Perhaps the most important among our services is the Artist Liaison. Your Liaison will know your practice and preferred way of working, and will facilitate your needs across our services division. Principally, these Liaisons exist to help the artist take advantage of Inversion’s services, but from time to time, Liaisons may assist artists in other services (such as sourcing new studio space, locating fabricators, or other needs).

What could you do with a team behind you?

Are you not pursuing projects because you’re overwhelmed? Do you have ambitious ideas but can’t do them alone?

Imagine what you could achieve if Inversion Art were handling:

  • Strategic planning and project management

  • Stewardship of professional relationships and communications

  • Maintenance of archive, professional profile, and materials updated

  • Negotiations for budgets and contracts

  • Creation of proposals and marketing materials

  • Shipping and logistics for exhibitions and sales

  • Coordination of outsourced production

  • Accounting and bookkeeping

Curious if Inversion Art is right for you?

If you earn $70k+ per year and are feeling constrained, reach out to learn more about how we can help.

  • Each artist entering the program will establish a legal entity and separate banking for their creative practice if they do not already have it set up. The company will facilitate the filing of this paperwork and cover the associated filing costs. The artist will be the sole owner of this corporate entity.

  • Inversion Art will handle billing and collections, accounting, and tax filing for the artist’s LLC. We are also partnering with Opolis to manage payroll services for each artist’s LLC. This payroll service is optional and costs 1% of the amount of payroll processed.

  • Inversion Art will make sure that each artist’s professional website is kept up to date. If desired, we will also work with the artists to regularly post content to Facebook and Instagram, as well as handle initial responses to direct messages. We will also provide public relations assistance, however, dedicated PR outreach is outside the scope of the services.

  • Inversion Art will provide comprehensive tracking of each artist's inventory. We will be working with the artists to make sure that we know where their available and sold works are, what consignment terms are agreed to for each, and keep track of updates to provenance.

  • Although Inversion Art cannot guarantee complete support of every aspect of every project, we do provide logistical support for exhibitions, arranging for shipping, sourcing quotes for service providers, and other needs of the studio.

  • Inversion Art’s legal partners will provide basic legal services to our artists. Specifically, these include standardized agreements for selling work, review of contracts, and basic legal advice. This would not include drafting of entirely new agreements, litigation, or extensive legal needs outside the scope of what is typical for a visual artist. However, in these cases, our legal partners will be available to assist on an ad hoc basis and we have negotiated favorable rates for our artists.

  • Inversion Art is partnering with Opolis, a healthcare collective, to provide access to group medical insurance that should be better and more affordable than what most artists receive on their state exchange. Opolis also provides access to 401k and disability insurance. To learn more about Opolis, go to https://opolis.co/
